As if Congress has not gotten the US in enough trouble by kissing Bush’s ass for so long, they are now debating ceding control  of the Internet to the ISPs! Of course you must first start from the preposterous premise that the US owns the Internet in the first place. This site is a blog set up to help people do something about it.

Awakenings

While I consider myself a geek, I am generally not what you would call a first adopter of new things. I generally like to let things mellow a bit and work the bugs out before I jump on board. This week, I have jumped on board with several new things at once: Flock, Flickr, and Del.icio.us.

I know what your thinking. So what, everyone else has done that already and now are moving on to other Web 2.0 technologies. You are right, but for me it’s new and workable stuff and I am enjoying playing around with them.

I’ll keep you posted about how it goes.

Let’s Write Our Own Voting Software

Kuro5hin.org has an interesting discussion of the pro’s and con’s of creating an open source project to develop the software to run our voting booths. As I see it, the main advantage would be the ability to examine the source code and verify that there is no, shall we say, “alternative agenda” embedded therein. Good stuff.
