Representative Government, My Ass!

In a hallmark manipulation of the Senate rules, the Republican leadership manipulated a budget document that could not be filibustered to allow the big oil companys to drill in the Artic Wildlife Refuge in Alaska. Those opposed to raping this pristine area were forced to seek to have this non-related ammendment removed. They lost 51-49. This is a downright f**ing outrage! Who are these people? Read about this travesty here.

Media Whores

The Internet is awash with all manner of information these days. In my forty-something years, I can’t remember ever feeling this “informed.” I am quite happy to sort through this constant chatter to try to find the information that makes the most sense to me and my world. What really concerns me now, is that the government is “pre-packaging” news and simply handing it over to the “journalists” who then simply act as a conduit for the government’s propaganda. In California, Governor Schwarzenegger is using taxpayer money to tell the people what he wants them to think. Just when I thought the main stream media (MSM) could sink no further! This fact alone should cause enough alarm and outrage to shut some of these conduits down. The airwaves belong to the people, and those who purvey information on them, do so at the pleasure of the population. We pay for it. The moment this trust is broken by the MSM acting as shills for the government, we have both the right and the responsibility to pull their collective plugs!

Jon Stewart Retrospective

This is still one of my favorites. I can’t resist showing it again.

Bush: Losing the PR Battle with Iran

Leave it to the Bush administration to make the ayatollahs more popular in Iran. The double standards used by the White House are amazingly transparent to all but the least thoughtful among us.

Why Aren’t These People Paying Taxes?

The Center for National Policy has been in a running battle with the IRS about their tax bill. They don’t think they have to help the rest of us carry the load. Why do we let this type of group flaunt our tax laws?
