As much as I disagree with the unjust war in Iraq, I have never taken it out on the troops. As a former soldier, I understand that a sense of duty and honor is alive and well within the ranks of our armed forces. This story reminds me that self-sacrifice and humanity still exist, even in the darkest of circumstances. I, for one, am proud of this young man. He is an inspiration during a period in our history that desperately needs heros.
